Material solutions for high-performance flexible packaging films.
Politem develops PA-based material solutions for monolayer PA films and PA/PE multilayer structures requiring reliable film extrusion, toughness, barrier performance and thermoformability.
Performance Across the Film Structure
Flexible packaging films must combine stable extrusion with mechanical strength, puncture resistance, flexibility and controlled barrier performance. In PA/PE structures, the PA layer supports toughness and oxygen-barrier performance, while the PE layer contributes sealability and moisture resistance. The final structure is developed around the converting process, layer configuration and packed-product requirements.

Application Driven Development
Development considers the extrusion process, monolayer or multilayer structure, PA and PE layer ratio, film thickness, draw depth, sealing conditions and required mechanical and barrier performance. Moisture control and viscosity are evaluated as key processing variables for PA-based films.
TESTING AND VALIDATION
Material characterisation may include FTIR, density, MFR or MVR, relative viscosity and water-content evaluation, together with relevant mechanical and thermal testing. Film-specific puncture, tear, barrier, sealing and migration tests are defined according to the application and may be coordinated externally where required. Testing capability does not by itself constitute food-contact approval or final-package certification.
