Engineered Material Solutions
Materials designed around the application.
From circular compounds and lightweight structures to e-mobility, high-temperature polymers and functional surfaces, Politem develops engineering thermoplastic compounds around the performance, processing and application requirements they have to meet.
Sustainability
Recycled content is treated as an engineering parameter, not a sustainability label.
Circular & Virgin Replacement
Recycled and hybrid compounds engineered to replace virgin grades where the application allows.
Politem develops engineering compounds with PIR and PCR content up to 100%, combining circular material use with application-specific mechanical, thermal and processing performance. Recycled feedstock is characterised and re-compounded under controlled conditions, so a virgin replacement is judged on measured behaviour rather than on origin. Reducing virgin polymer use where technically feasible is a defined R&D focus.
Engineering value
- Move from Virgin → Hybrid → High Recycled Content → Full Recycle by the technical need of the part
- Recycled content up to 100% in selected Full-Recycle grades, confirmed in technical documentation
- Formulations built around viscosity, reinforcement, additive package and final-part performance
- Recycled or hybrid drop-in alternatives for existing applications with minimal processing disruption
Platforms, streams & applications
- Typical material platforms: recycled-content portfolio spanning PA6, PA6.6, PA6/6.6, PA6.10, PA6.12, PPA, COPA, PBT, PC, ABS and PP from PIR/PCR sources.

Traceability & Circularity
Sustainability claims supported by supply-chain and production data.
Recycled content is only credible if it is measurable and traceable. Politem supports circular material solutions through GRS-certified recycled-content systems, ERP-integrated material and batch traceability, LCA studies, product and corporate CO₂-footprint calculations, mass-balance approaches and closed-loop material models. These let recycled-content claims rest on controlled data.

Circular innovation in practice
What industries discarded, Politem engineered into a resource.
Silicone-coated PA6.6 airbag-fabric is a technically difficult stream to recycle. Through Politem’s recycling and compounding know-how it is re-engineered into RugoPA S15 001 BK02, used in durable composite manhole-cover applications in Europe. Not simply recycling a resource, but re-engineering it into a new engineering material.
Performance
Grades engineered to hold their properties under mechanical, thermal, chemical and fire-related demands.

Discuss a flame-performance target (behaviour, not certification) →Heat-Stabilised (Thermal Aging)
Grades formulated to hold properties through prolonged heat exposure.
Continuous heat drives thermo-oxidative degradation and gradual property loss. Politem formulates heat-stabilised grades, through stabiliser chemistry that slows that degradation, and pursues RTI-focused development so mechanical performance is retained under prolonged thermal exposure. Long-term endurance and any temperature rating are confirmed by testing per application.
Engineering value: heat-stabiliser packages for prolonged exposure; property retention as the goal; reinforcement combined with stabilisation where stiffness at temperature matters.
Platforms: stabilised PA and other families. Applications: under-hood, lighting, appliances, industrial heat.

High-Flow Grades
High-flow compounds for thin walls, long flow paths and complex parts.
Thin-wall and geometrically complex parts push the flow-length-to-wall-thickness the material has to fill. Politem’s high-flow grades raise melt flow so these parts fill reliably at lower injection pressure and clamp tonnage, while protecting the mechanical target, which is the core trade-off in high-flow design. Flow is characterised in-house (MFR/MVR, ISO 1133).
- Higher flow-length-to-wall-thickness for thin sections and long flow paths
- Lower fill pressure and clamp tonnage; better filling of complex, multi-cavity tools
- Flow raised while protecting mechanical and impact performance
- Melt flow characterised to ISO 1133
Platforms: high-flow PA, PBT and reinforced grades. Applications: thin-wall E&E, complex automotive, consumer.
Bring a thin-wall or long-flow challenge →Laser-Functional Materials
