Politem is a Turkish manufacturer of engineering thermoplastic compounds, turning a wide range of polymer resources (virgin, hybrid and recycled) into grades specified for how they will actually be used.
Politem was founded in 2006 by a family already fluent in materials, with roots in textile fibre manufacturing. The company began by producing PA feedstocks from post-industrial textile waste. What the fibre industry discarded, Politem engineered into a resource.
The company committed to engineering thermoplastic compounding in 2013, and in 2015 moved production to its current site in Çerkezköy, Tekirdağ. The facility today runs at roughly 65,000 tons/year of capacity.
Politem's work spans five connected business lines:

The reach runs across polymer families and into demanding applications: automotive, electrical & electronics, white goods, industrial, agriculture and beyond. The portfolio includes PA6, PA6.6, PP, PBT, POM, PC, ABS, PC/ABS, PET and ASA, alongside high-performance polymers such as PPA.
Politem operates across five continents and 30+ countries. Its recycled-content grades are certified to GRS, within a broader framework of quality, environmental and safety certifications.

Politem's roots reach back further than 2006, to a small polyamide yarn shop in Milas Han, Istanbul.
A trade begins
The story begins with a grandfather selling polyamide yarn in Milas Han. A modest trade, but it set the values the company still runs on: that materials have worth, that craftsmanship gets noticed, that relationships outlast transactions, and that honest trade compounds over time.
Resources, not waste
Politem grew out of that inheritance. It began with one idea: that post-industrial textile resources weren't spent, only unfinished, and could become polymer feedstocks worth engineering.
The turning point
Recycling grew into compounding. Learning to engineer thermoplastic compounds was the moment Politem stopped moving materials and started designing them.
A home for the work
Production moved to its current site in Çerkezköy, Tekirdağ, where recycling, compounding, sheet production and distribution could feed each other.
International scale, family ownership
The materials changed. The scale changed. The technology changed. What never changed is the belief that every material holds value worth engineering.

Why a materials company
keeps prehistoric company.
No, plastics don't come from dinosaurs, and the fact that Politem knows that is rather the point.
Let's be precise, because these are engineers talking. Petroleum and natural gas didn't come from dinosaurs. They formed over millions of years, mostly from ancient marine life (plankton and algae) transformed by heat, pressure and time deep beneath the surface.
So the dinosaur isn't the chemistry. It's the metaphor.
What the dinosaur stands for is deep time and transformation: the idea that the ordinary materials around us are the current chapter of an extraordinarily long story. Ancient life became ancient carbon. Carbon became petrochemistry. Petrochemistry became polymers. Polymers became the engineering thermoplastics Politem compounds today.
Most companies stop the story there, at the barrel. Politem doesn't, because materials don't have to travel in a straight line.
Through recycling, formulation, modification and compounding, a polymer that already exists can be engineered again: given new properties, aimed at a new application, sent forward instead of down.
Which is why the product families carry prehistoric names: RugoPA, AnkyloPP, MagnaPBT, SpinoPC. Not as decoration, and not as a joke. As a quiet reminder that everything Politem makes has been transformed before, and can be transformed again.
